Jimmy Kellerb. 2002

​Keller is a sculpture artist, designer, and writer, residing in Hamburg, New York. His current themes and processes revolve around real and organic life. With a strong intention to ellaborate on the already existing natural world, he seeks to introduce art into a generation that forgets how to be present and forgets to see. He began large scale wood carving with a chainsaw at fifteen, which opened the door to other mediums while finding his style. His current forms of sculpture expand through medium based realism and organic forms inspired by nature. Specific wood species, steel and casted metals, and salvaged parts often become reoccuring materials throughout his developing work. While sculpture takes a large role in his life, he blends those inspirational designs with furniture making as a way to fill the modern void of quality and customization.

After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from State University of NY at Fredonia, Keller immedietely dove into the hands-on design industry. He worked as a scenic artist, lead carpenter, and then project manager at The Scenic Space LLC in Buffalo. These collaborative works consisted of sculptures and furniture pieces featured in Disney & Universal parks, NYC Broadway shows, as well as multiple local spaces. While he recently left the scenic domain, the momentum continues in his personal work and commissioned projects. Keller is also a freelance writer with The Buffalo Hive and other local arts and culture publications featuring art events, exhibitions, reviews, and contemporary stories revolving Buffalo's art scene. This goal is to continue uplifting the creative scene in western NY and the surrounding region.

Inspiration for Keller's work comes from everyday life, exploration, and research. He spends time hiking, biking, and kayaking. He spends time traveling the world with his wife and enjoying moments with his family and friends.
